In a live radio chat on Pride Radio's The Peter Darrant Show on 24th February, ReportOUT CEO Drew Dalton invited people from all walks of life to get involved with the #SafertoBeMe 2025 Summit to be held in Newcastle, North East England. Organised by ReportOUT with Out North East and Pride Action North, the global summit will run October 20th - 25th.
“Now’s the time to start working together….The key thing is solidarity and allyship...."
Drew said the key to defending the LGBTQ+ communities at a time of surging populism around the world is sticking together.
"[We are seeing] populist leaders who promise the earth but only deliver for themselves and who very often weaponise LGBT+ people, as seen with Trans people in the USA who have been edited out of the Stonewall Memorial Park [website] now...
"We’ve seen crackdowns by Putin in Russia and Trump in the USA - now’s the time to come together. "
Drew urges people of all walks of life to sign up to get involved. The summit will be beamed live all around the world so you can get involved wherever you are.
